Podcasts

I ran out. I would like more. Please give me recommendations! I am particularly interested in spirituality and religion, but I'm open to what you think is really worth listening to!

I really like Speaking of Faith. I also get podcasts of Elemental Castings, This American Life, and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

I have now listened to all of Thorn's podcasts. Alas. I have to say those two NPR shows are only ok for me. But some one on Facebook suggested the TED podcasts. I'm going to check those out!

I only listen to a couple, but BBC Radio 4's 'In Our Time' podcast might be worth a listen. It's a repeat of a Thursday morning programme which is essentially 'let's get a bunch of experts in to talk about something interesting'. Topics have included St Paul (involving one of my old lecturers), the building of St Petersburg, Dante's Inferno, and black holes. It's not always enormously gripping, but it is good fun and makes me feel terribly intellectual!

I like Shadowdance (http://www.shadowdancepodcast.com/) (focuses more on the energy work / Egyptian / goth end of things, is co-hosted by the fabulous Michelle Belanger) quite a bit.

I know, right? She gets great guests and has really thoughtful conversations with them. Often there's good additional content on the website.

speaking of faith

Hey - speaking of faith has formed part of what I've listened to for years... and if you listen closely to the catholic one, you might recognise some pseudonymed tones! Pád.

Padraig!

I am so excited to be moving to your corner of the world! Only the Irish Sea will be between us - rather than an ocean and a continent! I plan to spend as much time in Ireland as we can manage. Of course, I can't make any promises, since the visas are not in hand yet and Adam still needs to find a job. But I *will not* leave the UK with out a trip to Belfast to see you! We'll be just one bus ride, one train ride and a ferry ride away!
