Tomorrow

Tomorrow is my second, and BIG, ultrasound. It's not required, but pretty standard. It's the one where they check to make sure all the organs are growing as they should be and, with the pea's cooperation, we can find out if it's a boy or a girl. I feel *girl*, but we'll see.

I'm so, so excited.

I will also be relieved to know that it is still alive and I haven't squished it. I'm finding it hard not to be a little irrationally worried. I hear this is normal. I have decided there is nothing rational about being pregnant.

I'm curious, do you want to know the gender? If so, why?
I can see the practical reasons, buying clothes, decorating the nursery etc.
I haven't decided if I'd want to know the gender of my babies... but then I am getting waaay ahead of myself ;)

Well, we're nursery free (no room and plan to sleep with the baby) and I'm not much for the gendered clothing/design themes. At first I didn't want to know. Didn't see the point. But Adam wanted to know, so then I got on board. Now, I feel so strongly that it's a girl, that I need to know. If it pops out boy it'll be a huge mental shift. Plus, I want to call it by a name and pronoun (damned English for not having a personal gender neutral pronoun!). I think it'll help with bonding and whatnot. I already sing silly songs to it. Hee.

If it's a girl it's definitely Penelope with Pia as the nickname. This is why I think it's a girl. Penelope was on the list of names from the beginning, but it just cemented itself in my brain. And then one day early in Jan, Pia just popped into my brain. I feel like the baby named itself!

If it's a boy.... well, nothing is in stone yet, but most likely Beckett.
