Surprise

Crazy lady, "I'm going to run down your family" lady, from last weekend stopped us in the hall this afternoon to apologize for her behaviour. Whoa! Bt good for her. I accepted.

Wow!

Though it shocks me even more that she acted like that knowing that you live in the same building and aren't some stranger she'll never see again.

yeah, totally agree!

Yes, this.

Wow, what was her excuse for behaving like an idiot?

She was having a hard day. And she said is also a mother - even though her daughter is 20 yrs old. Still. WTF?

Jeez, if she was having a hard day I wonder what she was like when she had an infant?! Scawy!

I don't know if I would've accepted that.

I think I might have told her to stay the fuck away from me. That's some crazy shit.

I don't know what I would've done in your position.

Yeah.... I plan to keep as far away from her as I can. But, she does live in our building, though we hardly ever see her. I thought it was great that she apologized - that she even recognized how far out her behaviour was! So I wanted to acknowledge that. I normally expect people like that to be so unreasonable as to not even recognize the outrageousness of their ways.

I probably would have demanded an explanation for her behavior in the first place!

Perhaps she apologized so she wouldn't have to cringe and feel like an idiot every time she saw you guys or passed you in the hall.

I'm glad she apologized. Good for you for taking the high road and accepting. I agree: WTF. But, rather than nurse her crazy-lady spite until the statute of limitations wore out, she took responsibility (reasonably speaking) for her actions. I expect it'll be a long time before she hauls off at you again about how much she pays to use that garage.

("And do you pay for the right to be an asshole," I would've wanted to say, "or does that come for free?" ...Whoops! All forgiven.)
