When we were argyle

I can tell I'm fertile again. My uterus has that feeling, a certain twitch, that says "Fill me! I MUST MATE!"

It's quite odd. More than a little disconcerting.

In other news, Bennett ate his first mouthful of cat food today.

I think he thinks he is a cat. His first word was a cat name, he is eating cat food...coincidence?

You aren't the only of my LJ friends who is wanting to mate lately...I think there is something in the air!

*chortle* An important developmental milestone, to be sure...

He had the funniest look on his face, like "this is gross" and yet he did not spit it out. We'll see how his digestive track enjoys it....

*Snigger* You wait until he tries a spider!

[identity profile] ewigweibliche.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm.... or cat puke or cat litter or a handful of his own poop....

[identity profile] readthisandweep.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 10:17 am (UTC)(link)

Yes... In the interests of taste & decency I wasn't going to mention those options. May the eyes in the back of your head be beady!

Jayden has eaten cat food too..... at least he should have a nice glossy head of hair!

Bobby has been obsessed with the cat food and worse, water, for a couple of months. We moved it after he ate his first mouthful, but now he's learning to climb stairs....

Is PhD finishing time a good time to be pregnant? Is the UK a good place to have a baby? I imagine the answer to both might be "yes," but for the time, energy and money. Keeping my current job makes the next year a better time for me to get pregnant again. Hmm.

[identity profile] ewigweibliche.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
There is never a good time to get pregnant. And I'll be 34 in three weeks (or something like that), so I ain't got time to waste!

[identity profile] miss-swamp.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
I hear that. I'm 33 too, but James is 37--which obviously doesn't matter as much, but he'll still need baby-chasing energy and wants to be able to retire eventually.

Our next kids could be the same age too. :)

There is never a good time, but make sure you have a good daycare lined up in advance if you want to ever get done with your dissertation.

The International Student Support office told me the creche at the University is **free** to students. Thankyoubabyjesus for socialism! Here's hoping the care is good.

Excellent! I love the socialists!

[identity profile] keypike.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting! Did you have that feeling before Benn?

As for the catfood....I bet that's just the first of many disgusting things he will eat!

[identity profile] ewigweibliche.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, the year leading up to Bennett was all about MATING. When we finally "pulled the goalie" we got pregnant pretty quickly.

[identity profile] miss-malloreee.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you plan on TTC? Soon?

Anna had dog food for the first time the other day, same reaction.

[identity profile] ewigweibliche.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We are neither trying nor not trying.

[identity profile] seaivy.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless you are using contraceptives you are trying
It's called Baby Bingo!

[identity profile] readthisandweep.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)

Oh yes!

And please, please, please, please, PLEASE do not assume that because you are breast feeding you won't get pregnant. This is the greatest myth since the one about men & 'blue balls.'

[identity profile] ewigweibliche.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but "trying" means actually having sex! The babies are the best birth control ever!

[identity profile] norasma.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Nora was soooo into cat food...Des on the other hand likes the cat poo, I have to watch that kid.
