Field trip!

I am going to St. David's Cathedral tomorrow. The chapel and one of the church history classes is taking a 'pilgrimage' there, so of course I signed up! We're getting a tour, a lecture from the professor going with us, walking to St. Non's Well, and then our choir is singing the evensong. Yay! I am excited.

And I may even get to see [livejournal.com profile] riva_asherah.

Ah, crap. And I misspelled the name I was trying to write, which was Dafydd. Isn't Dafydd a Welsh version of David? Is Dewi "Davy" and an affectionate diminutive?

I have seen people named Dafydd. I'm not sure if Dafydd is a Welsh version of a more modern English name or what. But I know that it's Dewi Sant and St David's the town in Welsh is Tyddewi. I'll see what I can find out.

I know "Dafydd" is old, old. There were poets in the 14th century named Dafydd.
