I've got an angry itch
May. 9th, 2005 02:42 pmPlaylist to L.A. and back:
Counting Crows- Recovering the Sattelites
Hedwig and the Angry Inch ST
Jason Mraz- Waiting for My Rocket to Come
Hem- Eveningland
Hot Hot Heat
David Mead- Indiana (this guy opened for Hem and his album is GREAT, get your local indie store to order this for you)
Uncle Tupelo
Chicago- Greatest Hits (hadn't listened to this in at least 10 years, could still sing along to every song)
John Mayer- Room for Sqaures
Dido- No Angel
Ani Di- mix
The Shins
and.... finished off with more Hedwig.
The trip was exhausting on top of already present exhaustion. But it was nice to get out of town. Returning to the Bay Area from Southern California always makes me appreciate the green and trees. The best part was seeing
goddessofmercy,
howilearned, and
ramikinpoodle. They are incredibly welcoming. Their silliness and edemame and sangria were especially reviving after a Denny's dinner (have you tried eating vegetarian at a Denny's?) and frustrated attemtps to speak to Adam's parents on behalf of my parents. My family causes me no end of heartache.
And so, today I am sluggish and overwhelmed. Graduation, job hunting, apartment hunting, no funds, weddings, parents, final papers.... it's too much today. I'm going to go sip coffee at a cafe and try to do at least one productive hour of work. After that, all bets are off.
