It is official
May. 10th, 2006 10:36 amI have booked passage to Alaska! I am going home - home to Juneau - for the first time in 2 years. Actually, when I get there it will be one month past two years. If I weren't hurting from an awful night of insomnia I would be dancing around in my chair and singing the Lalala Alaska song.
For those who'll care: I arrive Thursday, July 13, at 9:31pm and I depart Monday, July 31, at 10am.
My prayer: that it not rain at least a few days while I'm there so I can go on at least 2 hikes and go fishing at least once. My hope of hopes is that I'll get an overnight boat trip (Dad said fuel prices are so high he may not take the big boat out of his "boat condo"). A lesser hope is that I can catch enough fish to smoke one and bring at least one back for my freezer.
One of the best parts of all of this is I have two weeks paid vacation - August rent will get paid! I get paid for going to Alaska. The summer now has meaning.
