Ohmygod. WTF is up my child? We had a total night time fake out. Zonked out at 8.45pm - WIN! Up at 10.30 and we tried *everything* in our tool box, including making up some new tools. No sleep til almost 1.30. Two hours later? Bennett is squirming and crying and keeps scooting up in bed bonking his head. And it's COLD, but he won't abide by covers. Every hour. Ay yi yi. And the nursing. My god, the nursing.

It was almost enough to make me want to attempt a DIY hysterectomy, to ensure that the ol' uterus doesn't ever put me through this again.

But while I am bleary and coming down with a cold, I am surprisingly alright. Not having to be anywhere at any set time is *so helpful*.

Still. Good thing lil' tykes are so damn cute and snuggly.

If keeping covers on him is an issue (it certainly is with ninja), then a sleeping bag/grobag is really helpful. There are thick ones for very cold weather.

Ugh. I hate nights like that. And yes on the alternative covers options--Sam will not keep covers on at all, so we either do double PJs or he wears these extremely thick fleece ones my mom made him. Otherwise he wakes up half-frozen in the middle of the night and wants to get in our bed and kick us all night.

Sadly we no money for new jammies right now. Oh how I was bemoaning his short sleeve top last night! He will be in something different tonight.

Your kid and my dog are in cahoots. Be thankful he isn't jumping onto the kitchen table when you leave the room and eating things off the top of the refrigerator.

How about a home-made toddler sleeping bag - blanket + scissors + needle & thread? It doesn't have to be beautiful, just functional.

Bennett does like to get into the cat's water dish, including putting Adam's ipod in it. There's the fact that we cannot find the alarm clock. I think it was put in the trash can. And he does pee on the floor from time to time.

I demand pictures.

:-) on mature reflection, handling pointy objects after a long hard night is probably not a good idea. Maybe you could use duct tape instead?

As soon as I can get my camera to focus on him. He is very dark.

I thought we'd already done this! Aaaaahhhhh! Oh well. Today he never napped and CONKED OUT at 8. **Fingers crossed** he stays down for the count.

Our last few days have been utter hell. And then for no apparent reason, she slept 8:30-NOON last night, only waking twice, for diaper change and nursing. What the heck?!

18 mo. is supposed to be the worst one, so at least there's light at the end of this tunnel? Hang in there!

Gosh, what a full on night. Don't do the DIY hysterectomy, remember all of the good times that you have with Bennett that you could have with a new baby. :)

How tall is he? If you send me his measurements we might have some winter jammies here I can send - just depends on what B'll fit.

Oh, good times! Skip the DIY hysterectomy and go with a professional. :-)
I've always been a terrible sleeper-under-covers. When we moved to Holland and my Mom discovered the miracle that is the Duvet things got much better for me and no sheets ever since! Since it sounds like he doesn't like to stay under a duvet cover, I LOVE the duct tape and blanket idea!!
