Last night my friend's car was broken into and her purse stolen. The bastards spent ALL of her money using her debit card as a credit card and using her credit card. Bye bye rent, cell phone, keys, everything. I hope the equipment the bastards bought at Best Buy breaks or shorts or just doesn't work. May this be a reminder for anyone who works in a job where they sell things to always check ID when someone presents a card. It takes a little extra time - but if the purchaser is male and the card says Sarah, you know somethings up.
My belly won't stop aching. Food doesn't feel good. Dammit, I want to eat.
My best friend's grandfather, the one who officiated my wedding 7 years ago, died last night. Wonderful, becuase he was on his way out and surrounded by the people he loved most in the world. Appropriate, because I did more letting go last night.
Today is beautiful. The thick overcast sky is not fading away to yellow sun. The light is white and grey and emphasizes the colors in the world. I spent a good chunk of French this morning staring out the window at the big pretty house across the street. Their vibrant lawn and bushes were ablaze with green and the hot pink roses pulsated against the black iron fence. This kind of light is the light of my imagination. I wish I didn't have to work this afternoon; I would go walking around these hills and let my mind wander.
And for fun:
