theatokosBooks. I am becoming obsessed. But I am unable to focus. I have finally finished last month's Gastronmica, as well as this month's Believer (their June music issue). I am feeling pressure to read Divine Heiress: The Virgin Mary and the Creation of Christian Constantinople. I borrowed it two months ago from a professor. In addition I have a few academic journals floating around. And there is still Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell waiting to be read. Eesh. Focus, where are you?
Speaking of focus, I intended this post to be about the mediocre Black Madonna conference I went to (parts of) today. I'll write more about the arrogance of liberal white touchy-feely privilge later. I hate being so critical of things that have the potential to be so cool, not to mention actually transformative.
