My lunch of leftovers...
Sep. 19th, 2006 01:02 pm.... is so much better than whatever it is you ate fresh for lunch. Yes, I am going to brag. Brace yourselves.
I had such a crappy, muddled day yesterday. I took off from work early and went grocery shopping. Despite (inspite of?) my bike tipping over onto one side and crushing one of the bags of groceries, the eggs survived! What helps soothe a frazzled Ewigweibliche? A quick tidy of the apartment, a glass of wine (the gewurztraminer had wine rot! Dammit! So I opened a zinfandel), and a home-cooked meal hits the spot every time. I cooked up honey-mustard marinated silver salmon (still eating the stuff I caught this summer), yukon gold potatoes with tree-something mushrooms, parsley and dill, and rosemary apples fried in butter. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Tonight, in an effort to continue chilling the fuck out, I will cook dinner (I'm thinking some baked pasta with chard), sing along to some Dolly and Kate Rusby, and read my Sarah Waters novel.
