Sep. 28th, 2004 09:01 amAs of last night I am vice president of the philosophy club at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. Or, more specifically, I am the cheese and wine coordinator and all around moral support for the president, my friend Newell. This is hilarious, because I know nothing about philosophy - I could barely follow last night's discussion. I go because it's a free non-graded way to learn something about philosophy. (And my friends put it on and there's wine and cheese.) DSPT is a superior school if you want to study classical philosophy. I am highly amused.
I'll let you know when the next little club get together is and then we can all drink wine and beer and eat cheese and sit around looking smart together.
And now for some inspiration. Quotes by Ruth St. Denis, 20th century dancer/choreographer:
We are the most marvelous machines in the world.... We value a radio more than our own voices, and a
motor car abover our legs.
I have used my body
As a gleaming sword
To cut outlines of beauty
On the mind of the world.
Go forth and use your bodies to cut lines of beauty on the minds of the world today.
