Jan. 3rd, 2005 06:37 pmDear God. Why do I do this?
Pat Robertson and the 700 club is on my tv. The man channels God apparently. He has a legal pad with "words from God." Now, God can talk to whomever She wants to. I'm all for words from God, but I am skeptical when one man speaks on behalf of God to others. According to Pat, in the upcoming year the Lord shall reveal to Muslims the falsehood of their beliefs, shall remove justices swiftly from the Supreme Court, and has also revealed that we will see amazing miracles in the coming year. He also says that Israel is under attack like never before. But don't worry: the tsunami in Asia is not God's wrath, it was just a natural disaster. When God does reveal wrath, it will make the tsunami's aftermath "look like a picnic." Even ol' Pat said that comment was a bit cliche.
I'm still hungry. But what to eat?
Oooh, my roomie just brought home a bottle of red wine..... Have I mentioned how glad I am that she's my roommate? She's neat, as in fun and laid back, and also isn't around much. A fabulous combination. I'd like to convince her to take me to the video store for some Buffy, but I think I'll just sit and read "Eucalyptus" by Australian writer Murray Bail. So far, so good. Murakami's novel (due out this month...?) turned out to be not as good as the one I'd read before. After this novel I think I'll finish "City of Quartz" by Mike Davis and then start "Cloud Atlas." I love reading.
