Bleary head. Got to sleep at 3 am after driving back from LA. A great trip. Can't focus much today. LA is fun. Good friends, good food (we found the Mecca of Brunch yesterday), and good museum exhibits on comics. Other key wrods of the weekend: fast food, 90 year old grandma, Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6, unintimidated, sleep deprived, Baba, breakfast cheese brick, inspiration.

On Thursday I leave for Anchorage to see my sis and neices. My one and only trip to Anchorage: age 12 for a swimming meet.

Woody Allen sucks. That's right. The Annie Hall days are long gone.

I finally looked up the nominations for the Oscars this year. I was wrong when I said there weren't very good movies this year. I still maintain that it was a heavily masculine year for film. What I really want to bitch about is this: Woody Allen is nominated for best original screenplay for "Match Point." Might this be a pity nomination? Or might the Academy just be grateful that he wasn't in his own film? Match Point is the worst movie I've seen in theatres in a long time. It's definitely the worst film I've seen in 2006, and it'd claim the top spot in 2005 too, if I hadn't subjected myself to 2/3 of "A.I."

Having written this rant, I now go to put myself to sleep. I will sleep deprived no more!
