And we´re live from Columbus, Ohio!

Greetings from the eastern midwest! I am writing from Hrafntinna´s office at the Ohio State University. Many of her computer settings are in Icelandic and so there may be this Æ instead of a colon or Þ instead of a question mark. I want to state for the record that Ohio is NOT hell. No, no that´s Nevada. Ohio is nice. So far I do not mind it and actually feel quite comfortable here. It sure is flat! And it´s not that green but that´s because it is January and there are many trees here and they´re all without covering - saucy little trees! What little I´ve seen of the town is very ..... normal, for lack of anything more descriptive, and so far there´s not been much of Columbus to describe. My first impression of Ohio was that is was bland and one-track-minded thanks to the people on the plane here. I think at least 20% of the people on the plane were wearing Ohio State paraphernalia - Go Buckeyes! Yeah! They were all just sorta bland looking, heteronormal folk. But the cafe this morning made the people look more interesting. Maybe it´s just that I find the thickly overcast grey sky so very comforting, but if I had a reason to live here, I don´t think I´d hate it. It certainly doesn´t have the trendy pretensiousness of the Bay Area (certain of those pretensions I subscribe to myself, but they are pretensions nonetheless).

Other thoughts. The Ohio State University has the largest campus in the country. It´s massive. And ubiquitous. There are 4, count ém FOUR, Hooters in this town. Dear god. Hrafntinna has a great house. It makes me want to be a professor and have good furnishing taste. As always, being around the good Doktor both fuels my desire for more study and makes want to flee from it. I think she would appreciate this combination.
