Perspective
Feb. 15th, 2008 09:00 amIt's time for another gratitude post. Several other posts in the LJ world have reminded me that, while my disappointments are real and need to be dealt with, they are not true problems. I have lots to be grateful for. Here is what I'm thinking about this morning:
*Another trip to the midwife, another reminder that I am the picture of a healthy pregnancy
*I am so grateful for the habits instilled in me by my mother, by an adolescence spent as an athlete, by the knowledge I've had access to that has enabled me to be as healthy as I am today
*My child - my son is not squished and is perfectly healthy too
*Adam is supportive and encouraging to me, and that our families are generous and engaged in this pregnancy
*My PhD adviser is compassionate and unexpectedly awesome
*I have really amazing, interesting, loving friends
*Perfect spring weather here in the Bay Area
*As a woman, I am able pursue my passions and interests and loves without recrimination (at least, in the US)
*I can pay my bills
*I have a beautiful apartment to come home to
I will most likely be off line from this afternoon until Monday evening. Adam and I are going to Pantheacon - huge pagan conference in San Jose. If only Christian conferences were as fun....
I hope you you all have a great weekend.
