Oh my god. Who knew putting a clean diaper and pajamas on a one year old could be so hard. He fusses like I am trying to shove carrots up his ass. Sweet jesus.

Would some one pass the scotch, please?

Oh, so it won't get better in the next 6 weeks? Dang. I do all these sneaky games so they don't notice their clothes coming off and jammies starting on, but that's probably counterproductive for the future. And it's tough to be sneaky about diapers anyway.

They seem to enjoy having their teeth brushed, though, so that's something.

Cheers! Image

Same with ninja. Hates dressing/nappy changes but loves his toothbrush.

You brush their teeth?? Go you! I keep meaning to buy B a little toothbrush. He's fascinated with ours. Our dentist says toothbrushing doesn't get real until about 3 so I don't feel so bad about slacking off.

We just started (since they just got teeth). It's mostly so they get used to it by the time they actually need it, rather than fighting that battle with bigger, stronger-willed people.

I absolutely agree. But it was nice to know that actual cleaning doesn't need to occur for some time.

Also, thanks for the drink. *GULP*

Did he mention what it was that changes at around 3 that makes it necessary for proper cleaning then and not before?

I think it was that that's when kids could really do it themselves. Although his caveat was assuming the baby wasn't sleeping with a bottle in its mouth or getting lots of fruit juice or soda.

haha, THIS.

We have a toothbrush & it even sits out to remind me to use it... I think I've done it twice.

Maggie and I brush our teeth together every morning. it's super frickin cute. given the presence of two boys in the house who HATE brushing their teeth, i enjoy it immensely. and she seems to, too. likes that she's doing what mama does.

of course, we have been known to leave her with a bottle in her mouth - so our need to appease the cavity gods may be higher than others'!

Lol, bless him. Leify does the same thing sometimes, he tried to scoot himself away across the floor or bed lol. I usually sing a song & he starts laughing or lately..making a grab for himself lol.

Leify usually bites on the toothbrush, but is pretty good with letting us clean all his teeth.

HaHaHaHaHa.

Sorry....but that's funny. I remember that. J wasn't too bad. I kinda learned to pin one of his arms down with my foot so I had both arms free to change him.

Wait 'til he starts taking his clothes and diaper off and running around the house. J would do that and ten grab a diaper in a panic when he needed to go. Fun times, fun times.

My youngest neice would take of her diaper and then shit behind the couch or a chair like a little animal. One time i caught her just as she was about to poop and she took off running and the poop hit the floor in the the middle of the living room in a kind of ball and bounced. We were all slightly amazed.

Don't feel bad laughing - it's funny. But less so after an entire day of a baby who won't nap. O_o Ay yi yi.

I can see bits of the toddler creeping in. Not wanting to get changed, playing in the cat bowl repeatedly after being told no (repeat, repeat, repeat), laughing upon being told no, oh the good times!

Henry doesn't give us much trouble when we change him or get him ready for bed. He does, however, unclasp one side of his diaper at night, causing all sorts of fun in the morning.

We have this thing, I don't have a clue what it is but it came in the baby grooming kit that we got at our baby shower, I call it 'nubby'... it looks like a tooth brush but instead of bristles it has a nubby top (hence the name) ANYWAYS, Anna is fascinated by it so I only give it to her while I change her & it keeps her still & occupied. She of course screams bloody murder when I take it from her but you can't always win.
