Adam's one major task for Project Wales was to take care of the pets. He did not read the fine print carefully (I am not surprised, details. Not his thing.) and now the cats are in no way qualified to move to Wales. This means that they are eligible only to come over at Christmas. Hopefully Adam's parents will consent to keeping the cats until then and then bringing them over when they come visit.

On one hand this actually isn't such a bad thing because traveling with a squirmy toddler AND two cats was really sheer insanity. But poor kitties. Adam owes them big time. He owes Elliott a dog.

This might be a better for you in the long run.
University accommodation doesn't allow pets (no matter how temporary your stay) and landlords who allow pets are few and far between.

Hm, well then it gives us time to scope out a place that will. If we are staying for a few years there is no way we'll leave our pets behind. I've had Elliott for almost 8 years. And Adam is irrationally fond of Nigel.

I hate to compound the felony (no offense chiv ;]) but there is virtually no chance you will find a landlord in Lampeter willing to allow pets. And even if you do bring them, they will have to remain in quarantine for, I believe, 6 months. (Don't quote me but check this out on the Defra website:~

Quarantine can be avoided. It is a looooong complicated process, we are discovering, and going through the process won't guarantee that we avoid quarantine either. This is why the cats won't come with us until later. We missed some fine print and it set back the paperwork.

Do people just not have pets in Lampeter? Do you own your flat? Only home owners get to have pets? Hm. This annoys me. But thank you for this heads up.
