I love my job. Really. Shouldn't I love it especial much today because I am getting paid to play on the internet? Right? No. I am going insane. Normally, when it's slow, I do what I need to and then leave. But today is our book keeper's first day, so I'm here as back up since Ramon is at rehearsals and the ED and Programming director are at meetings in Palo Alto. The new BK is fast discovering way we fired our last BKs. They were unbelievably incompetent. Like, beyond incompetent. Paying things twice, forgetting to deposit $8,000, unexplainable gaps in the check numbering, forgetting to pay people, you know... stuff that gets you fired. The current BK is going to be here all bloody day.

And, I have to work from 6-9 too because all of our intern-like support staff have graduated college. Thankfully, I have a new book: California: A History by Kevin Starr, the pre-eminent historian of California. His introduction alone got me excited to live in such an amazing place and confirmed my need to learn Spanish.

Agh! I am so totally bored! I have this new thing called free time??? I luckily bought a new book entitled "Saving General Washington." It has a really lengthy official title. I am really excited about it also.

Friday! Woo-hoo! I've never been to Santa Barbara so I'm very excited that we are having lunch there. A. keeps telling me he thinks I'll like it a lot. Like in that maybe-some-day-we-could-live-near-LA-and-Mercy kinda way. Every description of Santa Barbara sounds lovely, except: it's even warmer and sunnier there than here. But, at this point I am open to all possibilities!

heee, he doesn't want to give up, does he?*g* i love the barbara, love it. i like it more than howilearned does since he grew up there. and hey, openess is good. i would consider living there if it weren't for the (attempt at an) acting career and the fact that i don't think howilearned would want to live there right now.
