I had my first prenatal doctor's appointment today. I was nervous. I am ambivalent and uneasy about the Medical-Industrial complex through which I have my insurance. Thankfully I had a wonderful nurse practitioner. Sadly, she already has 4,000 patients and can't take me on (yes, you read that right!).

Everything is as it should be. I am healthy. I am 133 lbs. I have gained 10 lbs in two months! Go me!

But the best part..... thanks to a dildo-esque rod getting fresh with my insides I got to see an ultrasound of the Lil Pea.

And that. made. it. REAL.

No more squid.

It's a real life lil' babeh (just one). With a freakin' heartbeat. In my orange-sized uterus. Inside ME.

On a completely different subject, you mentioned you had a contact at the university of Ohio (in Columbus?) who might be willing to talk to a lowly BA student about the conversion of the Vikings Scandinavians.
You wouldn't happen to have those details to hand? Seeing as I'll be in that general area over Christmas.

We got a little picture printed from the ultrasound. Maybe I'll teach myself how scan and post it. Adam did indeed come with me, and I'm so glad too! Of course, we arrived home and there was a credit card bill in the mail and the stress of money immediately deflated our baby bliss balloon. Bah.
