Thanks, pregnancy!

Worst heartburn and acid reflux ever. It's been going strong since 4am. Couldn't sleep. Can't exert myself or bend over, so no yoga. Can't breathe too deeply, which means no voice lesson today. Bah.

However, I got my hair cut and I look fabulous. And, I have more money in my checking account than I thought I did, which is also fabulous. At the very least I can pay rent and not sweat. It's important to celebrate the small victories in life.

Ugh, I remember some of that. I found Gaviscon to be better than the other heartburn remedies I tried. I told my friend, "It foams in my mouth!" (which it did) and she said, "It has the power of rabies!"

Hey Sis!

You should probably be taking something for that heartburn, as it sounds pretty bad. Tums usually helps, plus pregnant ladies can always use the extra calcium as little pea is sucking all your up. But, acid reflux can actually damage your esophagus. Although thats usually if it is chronic. You should bring it up on you next appt.

Yes, I familiar with the ravages of acid reflux as it is deadly for singers. It's the first time it's happened and hopefully it won't happen again. I do take Tums for the heartburn, but yesterday that didn't help at all. I slept propped up on pillows, so I wasn't horizontal and that seemed to help. I feel a bit better today, but I'm still going to take it easy - no bending over, no singing, tiny acid-free meals, etc.

I have to say at times it was excruciating. Here's hoping that that was just an anomaly and it never gets that bad again.
