The reason Benn was increasing in bradys and not decreasing is that he has a UTI. The night pediatrician figured it out. After being tested for everything under the sun, they figured it out. Sadly, treating it means more tubes and wires. He has a heplock in his tiny hand, taped on a splint that takes up most of his forearm. Through the IV they gave him a tiny blood transfusion and will give him antibiotics. The docs also have him on some oxygen flow in his nose.

When I went to see him today he already looked better. He was more alert, his feeding more vigorous and he just looked better. Plus he's up to 5lbs 4oz. Best of all, no bradys since yesterday. YAY. I shouldn't even think this stuff, but maybe..... maybe? Maybe Sunday or Monday. (pleasegodpleasegodpleasegod)

Little Bennett certainly has had a lot of fighting to do. What a strong resilient baby! Hope he gets better soon and you get to take your baby home!

Let's see... Cora wrote something about connecting to the personal God before asking things of the other gods... More reasons for me to work on that.

WTF... I mention to Pagan that you have not played any scrabble moves and she gives me this look like "Where have you been?" I have started avoiding computers outside of work and quick scrabble moves so the news passed me by.

I can remember waking up in a hospital bed with doctors and nurses running everywhere, I started to freak out, and then I saw my mother across the room smile and through the pain and confusion I knew that whatever the heck was going on it would be okay. Mothers have that kind of power.

No one was more surprised than me that the little guy came so early! And I sure hope I have some ability to make him more at ease. The fucking NICU just isn't a peaceful place. It pains me to see him all wired and tubed up.
