Religion is my whole life, it seems
Apr. 10th, 2004 01:43 pmThe priest from the Orthodox Institute called me and asked if I had Easter plans. He invited me to his church picnic and wanted to check up and see how my week has been. So thoughtful. I am really lucky to have only had good experiences with priests, both Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. I am considering getting baptised. That will be a ways off, but.... we'll see. As far as an institution goes, the Eastern Orthodox church is the only one where I've really experienced God in a consistent way. I think the mystic threads in their theology and liturgy really speak to me. I'm not much of joiner, but there is grace in making a commitment. I also need to ponder this decision for a while longer, becuase I don't want to conflict my focus and energy with the circle that I will be apprenticing with for the next year.
I also just got the ball rolling on setting up a special reading course on Mary for the fall. Looking forward to that. There's so much to learn!
I hope everyone has a blessed Easter tomorrow, in whatever form you celebrate or think about it. I will go to the rose garden and say a big thank you to the sun and then go brunching with good friends. I've even saved some king salmon belly strips from AK for my Easter feast.
Lent be gone!
