I dunno, how many "Barack Obama is cool" posts can I make in one election season? :-) I thought it was very impressive and moving, but I've come to expect that from Obama. I liked the "in the next two years" policies he talked about for the economy.
I'm more interested to hear what people like you, who weren't completely sold on Obama going into tonight, thought of it. It sounds like you were impressed.
With the debates I've just become more and more impressed with his poise and thoughtfulness. He never gets snide like McCain. While I completely recognize the ad is propaganda, I really liked the ending where he said he isn't perfect and won't be a perfect president but he will speak honestly.
PLEASE GOD he won't have a scandal that destroys a generation's hope.
For now I'll worry about him getting elected and save scandal worries for after Inauguration Day. But I think that if there were a real scandal in Barack Obama's past, we would have heard about it already. And I think he is a careful enough man to avoid stepping in it in future.
The reason I'm sold on him is less the inspiration (though a move away from the typical, how low can we go politics, is good) but because of how thoughtful he has been through out the campaigning process, and how well run his campaign has been. Especially given this extended campaign, that says a lot about his leadership and practical political ability.
