I feel like crap. Spacey, achy, hungry but uninterested in food (huh?), tired, mildly nauseated .... Bleh.

Bennett just will not have anything to do with sleep. He is tired but it takes 2 hours and devoted attention to get him to sleep. Ugh. I borrowed "The No-Cry Sleep Solution" from the library. I read the whole thing tonight. Tomorrow I will start tracking naps and whatnot and begin devising a Plan. Isn't there some magic fairy dust I can just sprinkle on him?

The apartment managers live below us and their living room is under our bedroom. They smoke weed every now and again and it wafts up through the floor boards. SIGH. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the cause of my allergies. It's also time to get serious about moving house.

I've done enough whining in the last few weeks that I think I'm due for a gratitude post here real soon.

I hope the No-Cry book works for you. It just frustrated me even more because it was so complicated and didn't help, but then I wound up with no solutions at all. :( I bet the way you're feeling has a lot to do with exhaustion and frustration!

We'll see. It's the only book that has been constantly been recommended. I don't know if any of the techniques will prevent B from fighting sleep. He starts get sleepy, starts to wind down and as soon as he begins to fall asleep he'll fight it and cry cry cry and wiggle! Then he'll go down and 10-30 minutes later wake up and in full in cry and we have to start all over. But I would like to stop having to nurse or bottle feed him to sleep. This might seem to help. I mean, I love nursing down, but he won't let us put him down - MUST be in arms! Argh.

Again we'll see. What ended up working for you?

Nothing worked for me when Sam was Bennett's age. I was a sleepless zombie for over a year. :( I didn't want to say that in the previous comment because I didn't want you to feel thoroughly demoralized!

Sometimes when Sam was a tiny infant, like 2-3 months, all we could do to get him to stop crying was to put him in the swing for what seemed like hours on end. I felt bad about it but apparently he liked it, or at least it didn't enrage him.

I've done the hungry-but-uninterested-in-food thing. I call it food ennui. For me it is characterized by standing in the produce aisle, unable to think of anything I'm interested enough in cooking to muster the will the buy the ingredients. I go home and am surprised and displeased to find that there is nothing to eat there.

Does it help if someone else prepares a meal for you?

I've been experiencing those same symptoms! Its not enough to think I may be fighting something, but it's been constant for at least a week. I've never had allergies before, but the headaches and sinus-y feeling I've been getting make me wonder...

For sleep resistance, car rides work wonders. I know you don't have one, but even a dryer or vacuum or other similar noise and sensation may help.
