The dog that would not die

Died.

I feel the need to post this so that I do not so casually dismiss the death of my family dog, the only dog my family has ever had. Heidi would have been 17 sometime this fall/winter. Maybe she already was 17. She was the happiest, blindest, deafest, stiffest, and with a rotting eye, dog that ever there was.

Thanks. I'm actually kinda relieved. There were going to be tough decisions to be made soon so I'm glad she decided for herself. And, yeah, I was really starting to wonder if she would ever die. Although I liked that tenacious spirit around the house.

So sorry, my dear. My took-forever-to-die doggie and your hung-on-'till-the end-dog are probably playing tug of war with each other in doggie heaven right now.

Assuming they have their pre-age selves..... I don't think Heidi could tug on anything in the shape she was in! Made me miss my Dawson doggie up in Alaska.... no longer mine, must remember, but I miss her nontheless. Again, makes Sam look like the slow one in the family. :)
