Brunch-time and thinking the BBQ was in the late afternoon, and thinking that we've spent too much money eating out, I decided to eat something around the "house." We have no kitchen, and live with a small fridge, a rice cooker, and a microwave. A while ago Adam's sweet thoughtful Kansas grandma sent us a care package, full of boxed mac n' cheese from the dollar store. It's been deliberately hidden in the back on a shelf. Thinking I was being thrifty and dreaming of better food to come in the afternoon, I cooked up a box in my rice cooker.

It was the most bland disgusting gloop I've eaten in a long long time.

Hungry, and grossed out, I ate a fistful of Adam's Doritos.
A giant toxic bomb in my belly.

Then the phone rings and our friends inform us that we had been given faulty info and the BBQ was right now. I was pissed.

But the afternoon was great. And later, hungry finally, the Icelandic Scholar and I went to Nation's for burgers. We had already allotted ourselves some red - non-organic, unethical- meat this day, and there is no better place for that than Nation's, a Bay Area glory. I was highly sastified.

But. I am a glutton. Tonight after scrabble (Adam kicked some ass) and a nice bottle of grenache-shiraz, I had a hot dog.

I am going to hell.

Sometimes you gotta eat trash, I try to eat organic most of the time and don't eat that much meat and eat loads of fruit and veg but somedays you just need some junk... I wouldn't worry, most people have it the other way round and 90% of their diet is junk :)

yeah... I just had a craving. I redeemed myself this morning with organic plain yoghurt and granola. And a lot of water.
